Cauliflower Pizza Crust Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Cauliflower:

    • Place the cauliflower florets in a food processor and pulse until they resemble fine crumbs, similar to the texture of rice.
  3. Cook the Cauliflower:

    • Transfer the cauliflower crumbs to a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for about 4-5 minutes until softened. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  4. Drain Excess Moisture:

    • Once cooled, place the cooked cauliflower in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible. This step is crucial to avoid a soggy crust.
  5. Form the Dough:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the drained cauliflower, grated parmesan cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
    • Add the egg to the mixture and stir until everything is evenly combined and resembles a dough-like consistency.
  6. Shape the Crust:

    • Transfer the cauliflower mixture onto the prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Use your hands to flatten and shape the dough into a round pizza crust, about 1/4 inch thick. Ensure the edges are slightly raised to form a crust.
  7. Bake the Crust:

    • Place the crust in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and firm to the touch.
  8. Add Toppings (Optional):

    • Once the crust is baked, remove it from the oven. Add your favorite pizza toppings such as tomato sauce, cheese, vegetables, and meats.
  9. Final Bake:

    • Place the topped pizza back in the oven for an additional 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Serve and Enjoy:

    • Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly before slicing. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious cauliflower pizza!
